‘Gorgeous house, lovingly restored, with everything you need for long family lunches on the deck. Everyone loved the river that runs just by the house - the water pool along the path is blissful. Close to stunning towns and villages as well as all the basics in San Giustino. Would highly recommend.’

The setting is beautifully tranquil and is ideally located for visits to marvellously historic hilltop towns or more bustling Tuscuny villages or quiet scenic walks or an evening on the patio with pasta, salad and a bottle of the local vino or a refreshing plunge in the adjacent river spa on a hot day after sunbathing on the deck or an early morning walk to San Giustino for an espresso and brioche in the local cafes.

We found the house very special: all the authentic details of the old water mill have been preserved and the owners have made it a very spacious and comfortable holiday home.

We had such a lovely time at the Molino – we had a few trips out to various towns and markets and used the bikes for local trips. We even managed a walk! We would love to come back in Spring or Autumn so that we could do lots of hikes and see the wonderful countryside, it is SO beautiful around there.
The toddlers absolutely loved the rockpools and were totally fine with the steps etc in the house, they adjusted quickly! They especially loved all the bugs and wildlife we saw, and we even saw two water snakes! Which was so cool. We all felt like water nymphs swimming down in the rockpools..
We had a magical time and everyone absolutely loved the Molino.
I hope that we will be back again.

Molino is a truly unique gem. It is beautifully restored, with lots of attention to detail and one in a kind charm. Every small detail was perfect. We loved spending time there. Even in the hottest days of august, the Molino provided a quiet, cool corner to relax.

A great base for slow travel.
I stayed at the millhouse for 1 month and hosted a variety of family and friends over that time. I chose this house for its location; away from the popular tourist destinations but still with plenty to do and its history and style. It didn’t disappoint. The house is exactly as described, and even during a period of excessively hot weather it remained generally cool (especially the lower level) and was comfortable to sleep in. A dip in the stream was a welcome respite from the heat and over the month we saw the water temperature warm up, the water level drop slightly and the tadpoles arrive. There is so much to do in the area that we never got bored. Highlights were walking the long way round to San Giustino for coffee, Sansepolcro for a pre dinner drink, Anghiari (especially on market day), dinner at Castello di Sorci, aqua-aerobics at the community pool in Fighille, walking up the hill for pizza at il Glicine. A day trip to Urbino is definitely worth the effort as is Arezzo. We even took a day trip to Florence, which was a long day but definitely doable even though it was a bit of a culture shock to hear anything but Italian voices. I would recommend the millhouse and stay for at least a week!
